W2SB Challenge #10: Paved with Paw Prints

Hi, everyone!

Can you believe it's October already? Wow!

Naturally, October brings thoughts of jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, ... and paw prints. That's right, paw prints. Turns out October is also adopt-a-shelter-dog month!

Doggies have a special place in the hearts of all us I-Teamers: Bobbi's household has two dogs and one cat, all of whom were in need of a good home; Penny's and Annie's blogs both include photos of their dogs; Mary Anne is mom to Simon, Frankie, and Goober; mixed-breed, former-shelter-dog Miles rules the roost at our place; and Guest I-Teamer's household is currently home to two cats.

So, our October words are, "The road to my heart is paved with paw prints." I wish I knew who first uttered/penned these words. An Internet search showed that they can be found on posters, coffee mugs, and what not. Whether your furry friend is a dog, cat, hamster, or rabbit, we hope you will be inspired by this month's words.

Let's see what our I-Teamers have created this month:

Our Guest I-Teamer this month is the talented Erika from Scrappin' Intervention.   She certainly chose the purr-fect sentiment for her featured cat. And, that ribbon is perfect with her patterned papers.  :)

Erika

Annie's design is fabulous and her coloring is so well done! Need to find out where she got that cute little "woof, woof" embellishment

Annie

Love Bobbi's paper choices -- and her embossed pattern paper! This card is sure to bring comfort to a friend who has lost a four-legged member of their family.

Bobbi

What a great card to welcome the newest family member! Don't you just love the playfulness of the pup on Mary Anne's card? Something tells me this might be a Goober-inspired design.

Mary Anne

Penny's cards always have the best sentiments... This one makes my heart smile. And, who else but Penny would use inverted hearts in their paw prints?!

Penny

I made the birthday card below for a nephew who loves our little doggie. It was inspired by a dog property laws T-shirt. The laws basically come down to one word -- "Mine!" As the card shows, almost anything in our house is the property of our pup -- except for the piece of birthday cake shown on the card's interior. :)

Our Prize Package

Our October Prize:
Artwork by Sandy Allnock!
In addition to being invited to be a Guest I-Teamer for our December challenge and receiving a challenge winner badge, we are thrilled to be able to offer another amazing prize this month.

Sandy Allnock is the Founder and Executive Director of the wonderful non-profit organization Operation Write Home. Here at W2SB, we are prous to call Sandy friend.

We have two of Sandy's Ciara and Friend stamp sets to award to the winner. In addition, Sandy, who is an AMAZING Copic colorer, is providing us with pre-colored Ciara and Friends images. WOW!!!! If only us I-Teamers could win! Thank you so very much, Sandy!

Now it's your turn! Link up a card inspired by the dog/cat/hamster/gerbil/rabbit/what-am-I-forgetting-pet whose paw prints lead directly to your heart.  :)

  1. Great DT cards. Annie's card reminded me I need to clean the dog slobber off my car window. Thanks.

    1. Hi, Debi.

Thanks so much for your comment. I totally know what you mean about cleaning off the dog slobber. We borrowed my father-in-law's card for a recent vacation and had to do some backseat window cleaning ourselves before we returned the car to him. :)

  2. All of the cards are great! Not only the ones from the design team, but those who linked their cards. I just came back to join in, but I see you have already picked a winner! I figured since it was a challenge for October, I had until the end of the month to get it finished. I don't see the deadline, but I will still watch for next month's challenge. =)

    1. Hi, Marianne.

Thank you for your kind comment. We are so glad you stopped by Words 2 Scrap By, but very sorry you missed out on our October challenge.

We start our challenges on the 1st of each month and close them on the 21st. That gives us time to get prizes to winners before the next month's challenge posts.

Hope you will stop back to join us in November.
